Consumer sentiment mirrors Consumer Reports airline ratings
As we gear up to kick off the summer travel season, we thought it might be fitting to look into our airline options. Which carrier should we book for a smooth, easy trip?
The July issue of Consumer Reports examined the best and worst airlines as determined by a survey of more than 16,000 people who traveled on 31,732 domestic flights. The results: Virgin America, JetBlue, and Southwest got top marks, and no-frills carrier Spirit Airlines came in at the bottom of the list.
Of course, we could’ve told you that just by running a sentiment chart in Topsy Pro. We pulled this chart up in less than a second, based on more than 57,000 tweets about these four airlines over the past 30 days—and Twitter’s verdict matches the results of the Consumer Reports survey.
