An iconic slogan—and a social sensation
To stand the test of time, a brand or campaign slogan has to be short and packed with personality—which also makes them great hashtag material. But are some better than others?
Nike has been encouraging us to “just do it” for 25 years now, largely in print advertising, and we wanted to see how the slogan’s success translated in the social sphere. We compared #justdoit with two more of our favorite iconic slogans, Gatorade’s #winfromwithin and Apple’s #thinkdifferent, to see which company would come out on top.
The clear winner in this matchup: Nike. Looks like there’s a reason “just do it” has stuck with us for a quarter century—people can’t stop talking about it.
