You may not know this, but Kodak built the first digital camera in 1975. Stephan Sasson built it from super 8 parts, a digital cassette, dozens of circuits and some very early CCD chips. Here’s what he had to say about it:
“The camera described in this report represents a first attempt demonstrating a photographic system which may, with improvements in technology, substantially impact the way pictures will be taken in the future.”
