Target iPhone App

Wieden + Kennedy and Target brought a group of artists together to record Christmas songs for a holiday campaign. They hired The Brigade to handle user experience and visual design for the iPhone and iPad app that they used to allow people to discover and share the holiday music through email, Twitter and Facebook.

Wireframes

At its essence, this app is a simple music player with a short list of songs, and at the wireframe stage, we had to make sure the app would work inside Target's app platform so that the sharing experience would be flawless.

The following example wires show two basic scenarios:

First Scenario:

In the first, the user lands on the Target master home screen, clicks a promo, enters the app, and selects and plays a song.

Second Scenario:

In the second, the user shares a song on Facebook by clicking on the promo, selecting a song and a card style, chooses how to post to Facebook, and finally enters their message.

iPhone Design Comps

To bring this app to life, we brought in Target's brand colors, wrapping paper textures, ribbons and other holiday flair to make this app look and feel like a perfect Christmas morning.

iPad Design Comps

Because this app was built with HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, it was fairly simple to have a different layout for the iPad. For this version we blew up the album art and presented them in a nice grid format.
