You’re invited to a silent art auction May 24th curated by The Brigade & Deweywood to raise funds to bring interactive learning to James John Elementry. We asked our favorite artists to pay homage to their favorite album covers and will have over 20 works up for auction.

- Ben Krogh: Fleet Foxes / Fleet Foxes. “I’m a designer and musician originally hailing from Wisconsin. The arts in the public school system are a part of why I am a designer today… happy to help the students of James John Elementary.
- Beth Aubry: The Beatles (Not So) White Album. Beth is a visual artist based in San Francisco. A constant learner who is moved by colors and layers, her work ranges from abstract and portrait paintings to pencil drawings and photography. She is inspired by the diversity of the world and makes a point to color outside the lines.
- Casey Burns: Surfer Rosa / Pixies. Casey Burns is an illustrator and graphic designer living in Brooklyn after many years in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Portland, Oregon. His work has appeared in The New York Times, on record covers and posters for Sonic Youth, on beer labels for Deschutes Brewery, and on the east wall of Bunk Bar. By day he is a digital producer for Victoria’s Secret.
- Craig Demeter: Everybody Knows This is Nowhere / Neil Young. Father and artist.
- Dan Ness: Their Second Album / Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs. Dan Ness is an artist from Portland, OR working in painting, mixed media, printmaking, and video. www.nessdan.com
- David Hobbs: Ghost / Radical Face. My work uses as much color as I can find, offset with bold black outlines. I want to create work that holds images we can’t see with our eyes, just things spotted in my imagination. www.hobbsart.com

- Paul Skelly: In the Aeroplane Over the Sea / Neutral Milk Hotel. Paul Skelly is active as a freelance design collaborator and co-founder of “Jigsaw”, a network of creatives in SE PDX Or. www.jigsawpdx.com
- Ryan Iverson: Skool ‘Em All / Metallica. Ryan Iverson is a “poor-ass mother*$%#@r” living his art in Portland, OR. Some say he is the 3rd and hottest Beavis & Butthead. You may be right.
- Sam Jayne: Darklands / The Jesus and Mary Chain. Sam Jayne lives in New York City, where he plays with his band Love As Laughter, tends some bars, and attempts to re-learn to read.
- Sarah Collins: Arrow / Heartless Bastards. Sarah is a Colorado grown / Portland transplanted graphic designer and photographer who prefers the analog over the digital.
- Scarecrowoven: Nevermind / Nirvana. Mysterious New York-based illustrator SCARECROWOVEN is a fan of gore, guts, and oozing appendages. His gnarled creatures take a cue from comic books, sci-fi and horror movies and all the illustration that came out of the skateboard world in the 80’s. He describes himself as an alien emissary sent to our planet 12 million seven hundred thousand years ago, but in more earthly terms he is a graduate of the graphic design program at New York’s School of the Visual Arts.
